tandem axels with 12" tires

hello,<br />i have a sea lion galvinized trailer with tandem axels which seems were added on.nice job except i wanted to know if they were put in the right spot on the trailer {too far forward or back }what is the best way for me to find out ????/ second i wanted to know if anyone has 12" tires and how fast can u go with them ???/ they say hi speed with no speed rating. thanks

airmech,<br /><br />A boat trailer should have about 10-15% of the total weight as tongue weight. If it's more than that, your axles are too far back and visa versa.<br /><br />Tongue weight can sometimes be changed by moving the winch stand back or forward. Be careful that you have enough support under the transom though.<br /><br />12" tires, I'm not a fan of them. However, with proper maintenance (tire pressure) they can handle highway speeds.
