New to boating, but one of the reasons to get a boat was to try scuba diving. Anyone from the Tampa area diving? I know it isn't the best conditions, cloudy and all. Plan on lessons in July. Looks like there are a few wrecks nearby that I can get to from the dock.

Any advice is appreciated, scuba, boating, .... ? Anyone from Tampa diving?

come a little bit south to the jetty at Venice...the ledges off shore are loaded with fossilized shark teeth !

Good diving offshore, not far from Tampa. I live in New Port Richey and there are reefs 16 - 20 miles out. Plenty of hogfish and grouper

I live in Saint Petersburg, there are several reef projects not too far offshore; couple of sunken boats, several decomissioned army tanks, lots of bridge debris. This time of year it's not too cloudy either.

Thanks for the post! Are you referring to The Sheridan at N 27? 52.562'
W 083? 11.140'

I'll hook up with a diving place and check it out.

Make sure you're certified by Lobster Sport Season; good times and good eats in the Keys. Awesome diving!
