Wow bruceb, that close to such a place and having a friend work there, you probably get 22's with relative ease. :thumb:
MT Guy, You wife's knocking things down story makes me think of a little situation I once had happen to me many many many moons ago. I was working at a store called Whites. It was very similar to a Western Auto type store about the same time frame. And I was working in the sporting goods/gun department. I was so young at the time, that I couldn't even legally sell hand guns. So if a customer wanted one, I had to get an older sells person for that sell.
But one evening I was scrubbing the floors in my area with one of those scrubber/buffer machines. With a lot of soapy water on the floors already, that machine got out of hand and hit the cabinet where we had a lot of boxes of "Nimrod" 22's stacked up on display. And as murphy's law would have it, I dumped all those boxes down on the wet soapy floor. 22's were everywhere. Shorts, longs, long rifle 22's mixed everywhere.
So I had to take each shell and wipe it off and figure out which box I had to put it in. Long rifle and longs were pretty close in size and that took a long time drying them off and getting them all back in their boxes again. We never had any complains from the boxes sold, so I guess they all worked okay. :noidea:
I honestly wish I could buy those Nimrod 22's today for what they sold for back then. I honestly have no idea which 22 manufacturer was supplying those shell to Whites. But they did shoot well.
