Nieces boyfriend was driving in northern Ontario when his Montana minivan started to act up,so he pulled over right away in Spanish Ontario (see bugtussel) .Oil sending sensor had cracked and was spewing oil all over so he walked to a house a few yards away to see about finding a way to get to a garage or such.French speaking owner says why bother I have the same car in the back and it was just retired. So 2 guys take part off,and replace on his ,give him 2 quarts of oil and send him on his way ,all the while refusing any money!

It's nice to hear there are some of those people still around.

Pass it on.

Whoa a canadian frenchy was helpful to an only english speaking individual? I am shocked. I was in Quebec city in March was walking by the public ice skating rink and was asked to take a picture of a group of people. I responded that I was sorry but I did not speak French and was called names in French. I pointed to the moon and said who's flag is on it. Normally I am a considerate traveler especially in foreign lands but get testy with me for no reason and I will let you know.

You weren't on the Moon you were on a different planet, Quebec. Rural Quebec is night and day from urban Quebec. I'm surprised they didn't ask them to stay for dinner. I refuse to go to Montreal as an Anglophone. I say build "The Wall."
