I have a 2 stoke 2cyl 25HP Tohatsu that I've been storing for a couple of years. The last time it was used was once for 30 minutes about 16 months ago. I have a long-shaft mud motor that I use for duck hunting and took the starter wire off the Tohatsu to use for the mud motor. It's been at least 3 years since the starter wire was hooked up to the Tohatsu - now I can't remember where to hook up the red (pos) connection. I am assuming he black (neg) is connected to the chassis.

Any guideance you can offer is appreciated.

Also, the last time it was run it started right up with the pull-start. This times its not starting and I am tired of pulling. I pulled the plugs and I've got spark.

Red goes to the starter relay and clean your carburetor.
