Not exactly a SHT, but funny.

My father purchased a dock on the opposite side of a small lake in Kansas. We spent 30 minute removing the cables and putting 55 gallon drums under the steel arms and the gangway. After securing to the boat, he sat down on the dock and I slowly pulled it free. In the middle of the lake, a guy fishing asked if I forgot to untie 8) I looked back and asked what the size limit was for docks so I would not have to throw it back!

Re: Take the dock with you

A couple years ago we had a big storm here at the lake. A guys dock was blown free, floated across the cove and beached on the other side. The next day he went over and fixed a rope to a cleat on the dock and started to pull it off the beach.

He used a nylon rope which stretched, as he was giving the boat the gas the dock cleat came loose. The rope snapped back like a rubber band. The cleat flew into the boat and hit him in the back of the head killing him instantly.

So be careful when towing anything.
