Hello! I’m hoping some experienced people could help me. I have a 2005 Tahoe Q4 SF with a failed bilge pump. There is power at the dash switch, but the pump seems shot. The problem is getting the old pump out (and a new one put in). It is directly under the motor with incredibly limited access. Has anyone replaced one in this model boat? Any assistance would be highly appreciated!!

Howdy
Replacing the pump in most cases is hard without removing the motor. Many have left the old pump in place and installed another next to it.

Can get a piece of flat aluminum bar stock at the hardware store. Mount the pump to it, then bend the aluminum so it can be placed in position and have it lay next to the engine stringer. Screw the bar into the stringer to hold

most of the time, the motor must come out to replace the original.

sometimes you may be lucky and be able to remove it from the base and swear enough to get the old one out, then swear enough to get the new one in. however that may take longer than pulling the drive, lifting the motor and getting some access to it.

Ugh....I can’t even reach the hose to disconnect it to be able to put a new one in (if there was a even enough slack to pull the discharge hose forward).

The pump looks like a Mayfair. If I could get my hand on it, how do I disconnect it from the base?

Can also replace the hose with the pump as mentioned previously

I thought about that too, but Tahoe put a livewell in front of the hose...more challenges
