OK.. I got a 25hp 1987 Mariner short shaft. Run's great. Considering getting a higher pitched prop for better high end speed. Need a tachometer to know where I'm at with my current prop vs the new prop. Want to do some calcuations and what not. I would also like to mount it to my steering console so I can read it without turning around and/or having to remove the cowling.

I do not have 12 volt anywhere on my engine. It is a 2 cycle 2 cylinder pull start motor. It would be something that could pull signal from both sparkplug wires.

Is there such a thing? They have them for cars but that is for 12volt. This gauge would have to be able to withstand a much higher load (in theory).

I have looked at tiny tach, however I cannot find enough info to be sure it will work with my application.

Tiny Tach makes one that will do the job for you. Give them a call.

Re: Tachometer???

All you need is a Tiny Tach that operates with one pulse per engine revolution. It doesn't mattery how many cylinders the engine has as it is merely reading one spark per revolution.
