to adjust my low speed idle and my WOT I need a tach hooked up I need to see if I am reaching my suggested rpm's of 5300 on my 1980 35hp johnson. Where do I get a tach and also the disk I am supposed to use where would I get that. is adjusting it in a trash can acceptable. on this engine how often should the points be checked I have a manual but it seems the 35hp has some odd querks to it compared to the rest and the clymer manual is not that well written for the 35. I am not sure if I adjust the timing or, if it's off do I replace the points and regap? thanks
