I need to buy a tachometer to fine tune the pilot screws on my recently rebuil carbs (3) on my 1994 Yamaha 30 hp outboard. Its a tiller model, manual start, shortshaft. It needs to hook up to a green and a black wire with the 1 inch long round type soft plastic covered connectors. I'm not sure which one to get or where to get it and not sure what to set the # of poles selelctor to (3p,6p etc) Any advice would be appreciated, a part number would be great

Thanks a lot
Tom

Re: tachometer question

no, you dont.
top, 3/4 turns out from lightly seated.
middle 1 3/4 + or- 1/4 from lightly seated.
bottom 1 turn out.
if it still doesnt run correctly you have other issues.
NO where in the manual does it state to use a tach to set the mixture screws.
