OK, I finely got my 75hp force (its a 1996) it runs good I have installed two different Tachometers and both drop out or off and then just start working. I did notice that during this faze the voltage would fluctuate (say from 13v to 16v up-down) and it appeared when the tachometer came back on-line the voltage stayed steady. Is the Stator going out??

Re: Tachometer drops, Voltage fluctuate

Probably the fault is more on the rectifier/regulator than the stator. But there is one way to find out. Read voltage output from the rectifier and see if there is any fluctuations in voltage assuming you have a steady engine RPM. You can also do readings on the stator output (AC Volts) to see if there is fluctuations. If there is then it's time to investigate the wiring on the stator and rectifier.
