tacho for 1989 force 50

Hi all,my problem is that i am having GREAT trouble trying to find a tach/rev counter for my force 50(1989) as i believe that these engines need a special one mmmmmmmmm, i think the main problem being that i am in the uk and there seems to be not many of these motors about so i do not know how i am going to get one. the one fitted before was a crysler tacho for a crysler 45 but the engine went bang (not when i had it)and so the last owner bought the force 50 and never got around to obtaining the right tacho(maybe he had the same problem).any help would be gratefull, don't know if it could be posted to the uk or not or if it might be too costly??.

Have you tried a Mercury dealer? They should have one available.<br /><br />Or perhaps a tinytach.com. It is a small digital unit. Go to the site and retrieve the telephone number, call and and ask for correct model and shipping cost.

There are few tachs that will work as the Force uses a 20 pole tach. The red international teleflex is about the only tach left! You can use a tiny tach. I got mine by doing a search and looking everywhere. <br />Like HERE there you go.

thanks for that guys,i now know which ones are available for my engine now just got to find one mmmmmmm (in the uk).
