Just bought a tach for a 82 115 "tower of power" Opened it up and no instruction. Dealer is closed now and I want to get it hooked up. The tach is Quicksilver, on the back 3 places for wire. +, -, which I asume is the battary, but were would the last wire go? Any help would be great.. Thanks

Up North Boy,<br /> If you have the commander type control, on the front of it is a 3 wire connector. It will be the brown wire. I would test it with a voltmeter while the engine is running to make sure it is the correct one. Should see something way less than 12 volts.

+ would go to the key terminal that's hot w/ the key on usually purple, - to ground, the third wire is the tach pick-up wire which in my manual shows a gray wire. This grey wire comes off one of the yellow stator wires on the rectifier to indicate rotation.
