TACH NOT WORKING

PUT NEW VOLTAGE REG/REC ON 1992 200 H.P. JOHNSON NEW TACH, HAD STATOR CK OUT. CHECK GRAY WIRE FROM REG/REC TO TACH ITS NOT BROKEN. TACH STILL NOT WORKING?? ITS IN SHOP NOW. GOING COST ME. AND OU'ALL KNOW THE ANSWER. COULDS YOU GET TWO BAD REG/REC. I PUT TWO NEWS ON ?? STILL NEW TACH DID NOT WORK. -- HELP -- IF CAN ---

Is the charging system working? If so, your rectifier is OK. The problem would then lie with the Tach or the wiring to the Tach. Check that ground to tach is good. All you need for the tach to work is a signal from the rectifier and a ground to the Tach. If the charging system is still not working, you still have a bad rectifier or other problem.I think "Gaugeguy" gave you good advice before....<br /><br />And please don't type in capital letters....
