The Starcraft I just purchased a couple of weeks ago, came with a 50hp Evinrude Lark and the original controls that came with the boat when it was new, I pulled a OMC tach from another boat I just junked and I have been reading up on hooking gages up. I have read that some of the control boxes have the pulse wire in it for the tach, but I am not sure what year they started doing that in, so in a 73 control box would that wire be in there?

Sure would make easier if it is! Then running wires back to the engine.

Thanks.

Looks like it should be in there.........BTW, Cherry crop (Lamberts...yum) good this year? Think we're headed through Polson with the G. kids during the festival then up to Kalispell for an overnight. Maybe take them to the Voxtec house

Are J/E controls of this vintage like Merc controls with a small plug on the control box for tach power/gnd/signal?

Thanks for the diagram.

As far as cherries, have not heard anything on the news, so the crop should be good this year, normally if we have problems with the crop there are news stories night and day about it. So you should be good to go!
