I finally got my '84 115 running great, to bad the tach doesn't. When I turn the key on it goes to zero and thats it. How do I test it? Also I'd like to add a water pressure gauge to it, whats the best way and brand? Thanx

Re: tach help, and pressure gauge

There is only one way to add a water pressure gauge. 1) buy the gauge. 2) Install the head in the dash. 3) route the tubing from the engine to the gauge/ 4) connect the tube at the gauge. 5) install the fitting in the engine and connect the tube. 5) Connect the gauge light to the feed for the other lights. Your done. As for the tach, make sure the "sense" wire is connected. If the gauge zeros when turning the key on, it's probably ok, just missing the input.

Ok, where do I tap into the block at? On the tach, I need to know how to test the grey (sense) wire.
