Salute All<br />Wanted to buy a tach guage for my boat it never had one , will the guages at auto zone work they are 4 wire my engine is Evinrude 60173<br />Year: 1971<br />HP: 60<br />WOT RPMS: 5000<br />Hydro electric <br />Thanks All

honestly you couldn't go wrong by getting an OMC tach, it would save you questioning the accuracy of one that's made for automotive use

You'll need a tach for a 12 pole, 6 pulse signal. Use hot from key switch, ground, and send signal (gray wire from rectifier). Some have 4th connector for night light from dash switch. try tinytach or faria websites for info.<br />Good luck
