Tach for Johnson question

I have a 120hp looper vintage 1990 on a boat without a tachometer...also have a OMC tach that specifies it is for Seadrive motors, I am assuming they are compatible, but don't know how the 4 wires from the guage hook up to the control box. Is there anyone out there that can help?

If you're key switch is in the control box then there should be a small "d" shaped plug near the key that the tach harness plugs into. Teleflex sells a plug (female) harness (I've just bought one) to fit the male control box plug. The wiring breakdown is such: 1. Blue=lights 2.gray=sending unit wire 3.black=ground 4.purple=ignition circuit(hot).<br />Hope this helped.

Mworhtan...I do not have the plug in this control box...but with your enformation I can figure out how to hook it up...thanks
