Tach for a 25 Merc

Is it possible to hook up a conventional tach to a 2005 25hp merc w/electric start? According to a dealer in central Florida "No". However, on mercs web site they sell a tach for that motor. I am going to be adding a CNC tilt bracket and proping it out, I want to get the RPM in the correct range. Any help would be helpful. Thank you inadvance for your time and help.<br />Weedy

I have the same engine as you and I installed a Tiny Tach. Do a search on Tiny Tach and you can order straight from their web site. It will also keep up with run time.

E.F.<br />Thanks for the input. However I want to install a large conventional tach. I have seen the "Tiny Tachs" that you are talking about, but it isn't large enough to see from where I want too install it.<br />Weedy

Sounds like your dealer doesn't know what he is talking about.I say go to the the merc web site and order your tach.
