Tach Display going baserck

2010 5.0 GXI-E 101 hrs

On my past couple outings the digital display has been acting up.
Its like it is trying to display some thing, looks more like egyption hyroglifics????
I'm thinking it may be a service message, but its not readable.
After a little while the display returns to show engine hours.
Any ideas from the forum
