NO cost satellite home unit. Bunch of con artists.
I dial their phone help line. Pre Recorded sales pitch to FIRST buy a Personal alert system. I dial and check the phone number. Correct one on company web site.
I go on line. First thing they want is me to download a AAP. DANGER DANGER. ALL AAPS are written by LAWYERS. Telling you that the AAP is a legal agreement you agree to. Giving them TOTAL POWER to do whatever they want to on your computer or phone. I am not that lazy or stupid to give them that much power. Most companies believe you are. So the sell your websites you visit. Might only be a BILLIONTH of a penny each site. But do the math for 1 year of your web activity. Smart hackers are allowed to get your information. Rant over.
I am returning the free T Mobile personal collecting and tracking unit. People ARE NOT smart enough to beat FREE anything. Too good to be honest ?
Beware of the constant sign up for a free APP to do everything.

Yeah ,there is some sneaky pooze going on . Some of them are real dumb tho....like if I go look at Marine Deals (NZ fishing/boating on line retailer ) site within ½ hour my Wife is getting adds for the exact same stuff I just looked at on her ph( she lives on facebook ) . Now I dunno what they are thinkin but giving the wife a heads up that hubby is about to buy yet more fishing gear has gotta be dumb.
We are both using the same wifi modem .
I have my mobile data turned off unless Im away from home and need to connect and then its only on for as long as the task takes.
Some apps are overly intrusive but you can limit this if you know how . I go into the app settings and cancel the permissions I dont want them to have .
As far as on line sites ........I open a new gmail acc that I only use for particular sites , that way all the bulls hit adds and emails dont show up on my everyday email .

I also use DUCKDUCKGO as a complete blocker of all ads. But they do a small web search on topics.
