Hi all, EZ-Loader 3100# SINGLE axle trailer for salt water use. Always used Chinese Bearings and Valvoline moly EP lithium grease w/o problems. For greater peace of mind in my advancing years, this time I'm opting for Timkens(Twice the price). I want to use the VERY BEST grease I can get. I'm looking @ Ams-oil, Mobile One, Red Line, and Synergyn. I'm wary of any grease that's too stiff. Please share your opinions so that I may trailer w/ confidence. Thanks in advance, Pete

Re: Synthetic Grease?

Well, Everyone knows where my loyalty lies, but with my boat bearings, I just use a standard Marine grease. Why, because I take them apart every year and clean everything up and start over. There is allways water in there, so I dont waist the money. I coat the bearings with Militec1 before greasing them, and that alone protects from moisture damage, Probably wouldnt need to use a marine type grease. I never have any pitting or have to change bearings. Freshwater only.

Re: Synthetic Grease?

Just use the Marine Trailer boat grease we get at K-Mart. Should be okay. Anygrease is better than none. LD, I owe you an apology here as well as the rest of this board. I went wild last week & I want to apologize to all. Especially you & the good friends from Oregon. I came home from the boys night out when I have to much to drink, then got on the computer, & you saw what happens then. I am very sorry about that & want to offer an apology to all, the board, & the people of the Great State of Oregon. Thanks for your acceptance, BL.
