I do not know when this crack appeared on the port side of the swivel bracket just above the tilt bolt. Do not see a crack on the starboard side. Do I trust to get through this season? Its a sailboat - so I only use about 12 gallons of fuel per season -- obviosly need the engine when I need it. Major repair to pull the power head and replace. New parts are not available so I need to find a compatible off a similar motor. Parts manual shows the sailmaster has a different part than the short shaft.

Any experience with getting something like this to weld? (That is if Imake it through the season!)

Anything can be welded if you find the right shop. You better keep a close eye on if you're still going to use it.

Yes, it may be able to be welded, however from the condition of the rusty pivot bolt, it appears you are using it in salt water. Cleanliness in welding is very important & salt corrosion is hard to combat. Another thing is that for a welder to do it right, the part probably needs top be taken off, not sure he could get into, clean/prep & be able to weld it without dissassembly. You would have to have him inspect as it is hard for us to determine the extent of the break from where we sit.
