Switching gauges but using same transducer

Is it possible to wire up an existing transducer to a different gauge? I installed a Lowrance LST-3800 this year and used the supplied transom mount transducer but am using it as in-hull. I'm going to all different gauges over the offseason and Faria makes a depth sounder gauge that matches my new gauges. Is there a way to keep my transducer installed and wire it into a Faria gauge somehow?

Wiring it to the head unit is one thing. Whether or not the two units are even compatible is quite another.

The transducer frequency needs to be the same (200khz) but I doubt the plugs are compatible.

Sounds like it'll be easier to just pay for a new gauge/transducer pair and install the new one. Thanks fellas.
