switching from yamaha to omc outdrive

I know a guy who has a 1994 Chaparral that has a broken in half yamaha outdrive, 4.3l engine. I have a 4.3l engine with a OMC outdrive. Exactly what is involved switching from a yamaha to an omc. I ask as I already have the omc outdrive.
The yamaha outdrive is literally broken in half

Ayuh,... Remove EVERYTHING Yamaha, down to the fiberglass, 'n install the other...

Why would you want to go from one obsolete outdrive (Yamaha) to another obsolete outdrive (OMC). You do realize that OMC went out of buisness over 12 years ago don't you.
Find a Mercruiser or Volvo setup so you at least have a system that the company still exists.
