switching dipstick tube

I'm switching over the carb, ignition, water pump, etc to my new engine and I wonder if there's a good way to get the dipstick tube into the new block. I had a bit of an ordeal removing it from the old engine. It was a snug fit.
Should I freeze it to make it shrink? Lubricate?

Is the tube straight? A length of small diameter pipe over the tube and tap it in.

Ive used an appropriate-sized deep socket pushed down to the wide spot and tapped it down and in.

I have a ratty old vice grip pliers that I drilled a hole thru where the jaws come together. I clamp it on the tube just above the flange, then smack the pliers with a hammer driving in the tube. I used it on a few SBC's so far.

The tube is very long and has two 90 degree bends before it gets to the flange, so Scott's way is the only one I can see using.

So the tube (looks like stainless) is strong enough to hammer into the block? That's good, cause I could not see any way to arrange a press fitting.

NH is it possible to freeze the dipstick tube and heat the opening with a heat gun? That should contract and expand things enough..
