I have an 84 50hp Merc. I need to replace the switchbox. I have researched to find the a switchbox. The CDI website calls for a 114-5772 cdi part number. It states that it replaces the OEM part numbers 332-5772A1, A2, A3, A5, A7. My question, does anyone know the significance of the A number? Can the one CDI box be good for any of these different OEM parts?
Thanks

Re: Switchbox Question

A is a revision number that may or may not indicate significant change.

You can cross one to the CDI number, then back cross to many others. They will all likely interchange in your application. The same thing applies to other parts, like stators.
