If a simple toggle switch is single pole single throw what is a Guest, Perko type battery switch? Triple pole, quadruple throw?

Kind of a mix if your talking about a 1, 2, both and OFF type. The switch has a longer contact bar. The internal contact bad is long enough to connect 1 and 2 together with the common. Rotate more and its only one, or the other, or OFF

Yes AllDodge is correct. You are talking Toggle type switches verses Rotary type switches. I guess a battery type switch that has 1, 2, and both plus off, could be viewed as a SP4P switch.

Technically the standard perko/quest batt. switch I believe are considered/categorized a as SPDT "Rotary Switch" or "Selector Switch" that is a 4POS (off-on-parallel-on) circuit ("switch function") that has a contact timing that is make before break (MBB).........
