Hi Everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend....
Heres my dilemma and question...
My old had an old stereo installed. This old stereo was basic and had a On/Off. No problem with a pasitic draw on the battery.
I recently installed a new stereo that has a constant power draw. (even with the boat off, key reomved and faceplate of the stereo removed, the CD can be put in and removed).
I simply used the old wiring to connect the new one. The power/red wire ran directly from the fuse panel to the stereo.
Question: I would like to install a switch between the stereo and fuse panel that will allow me to turn it on and off, eliminating the parasitic draw.
I purchased a 2 position, 2 pole switch. Can I simply attach the power wire from the fuse panel to the switch and then run a new piece of wire from the switch to the stereo? Is this correct?
Thanks in advance to responses.
