1979 mercury model 70 70 hp outboard motor. Is there a way to test the switch box without running the engine? Also the flywheel has timing marks on it starting from TDC (464 ) and going to the right ( counter clockwise ) When I check the timing the marks move to the right away from my pointer?? Timing off ( This is at minimum idle )?? Any help will be appreciated.
