Re: swing keels

Your description dosen't give us much to work with. What is it doing or not doing that you think it should?

I don't know the amf but I had my hands on a 26' Venture years ago for a couple of years. The keel consisted of a trunk in the hull that the keel was pulled up into. The keel fits into the trunk and is held at one end with a large stainless steel pin. Then there was a winch in the cockpit with a cable to keel to raise & lower the keel.

It would help us if you used complete sentences and punctuation as what you wrote is hard to follow.

Re: swing keels

I don't know your boat, but swing keels are generally raised by a piece of wire or possibly rope connected to some sort of winch.
You'll have to figure out how the pennant(wire) is attached to the keel.
Sometimes the wire is looped through a hole in the centerboard or a swaged on fitting attaches to the centerboard.
Usually the only was to access the centerboard is to lower it. On a 26 footer you'll probably have to put the boat on stands to lower it.
Be carefull the swing keel probably weighs 300 or 400 lbs.
It might be a job for a boatyard. They should have the equipment to do it safely.
While the board is being fixed, you might also want to check out the pivot pin, any gaskets at the pin, hoses that attach to a through hull that the pennant travels through.(The hose ends above the waterline for obvious reasons)
