Sweetwater Fuel Guage

I recently bought a 98 Sweetwater. Everything is great, but the fuel guage doesn't work. Checked the fuses..All ok. Checked the voltage at the tank and the fuel guage... both read about 5 volts. There was some condensation inside the glass. Should I swap out the guage, or does anyone have another solution.
Thanx

Re: Sweetwater Fuel Guage

You should have had 12V on one side of the fuel guage. Assuming 12V on one side and 5V on the other, and the guage is not moving, then the guage is bad.

Another test is to place a wire across the terminals of the sender unit. If the guage moves, then the sender unit is defective. If not, then either the guage is defective, or you don't have 12V run to the guage.

Use the "search" function and the key words "fuel gauge" at the top of the forum. There are large number of posts all relating to malfunctioning fuel gauges and how to troubleshoot them.
