Swapping steering components??

The 93' johnson 120 had a dual cable steering on it. Have swapped my 76' 135 onto the boat that has single steering cable. The 120 simply has a housing bolted onto bracket for the 2nd cable. Could i somehow mount that onto the 135 bracket? If not, do i just remove the 2nd cable and toss it?

Give it a try and see what happens. If it won't fit, you can get by with one cable.

Thx boobie. I was gonna simply drill holes to mount the housing if it aligns properly.
