swapping motor to new boat

hello i am a first time boat owner and was woundering how difficult it is to swap motor and controls over to a new boat should i disconnect wires from the controls or from the motor?? and one more question the motor is a late 70's early 80's i beleive and it is a 115 mercury yesterday when fishing i had to pump the primer bulb every time i stopped to fish to get motor to start up and when loading it on the trailer i put it in gear to get it up on the trailer and pushed throttle and it would kill out the motor?? what would cause these problems??? need help!!!!!!

Replace that bulb, mine did the same. Use mercury bulb if you can the ones at walmart don't get firm. Do not know about controls hopefully the experts will answer you.

They should be a wire plug on motor.Then pull controls with wires.
