I swapped out my old mercruiser 5.7 with a newer 5.7. The old motor had 2 piece rear main seal and the newer one is a 1 piece. Doing this I had to use the triangle coupler with snout. My question is will this hook up to my alpha 1 gen 1 without issues? Do I need to update the u-joint shaft and upper gear ho it sing?

Thanks, I thought so, it looked like same part number. I ask because I've got low rpm vibration that goes away after about 1200 rpms. I never had this problem before and when I checked alignment with the alignment tool, it falls out because it's dead on. I had this newer snout coupler laying around (its used). I'm wondering if it isnt bad. I followed the method on here about installing certain bolts then slowly replacing one at a time to get it centered. I've done the method twice now to make sure. No dead cylinders, compression 150 all around. Timing is on. Motor mounts are tight. Do those shouted couplers get bent? Thanks in advance for the responses.
