Swapped 290 sp to dp, 30wt or gear oil

I have used 30 wt motor oil with my volvo 290 sp, but I picked up a duo prop and now I was wondering if I need to switch to a different lube.

Yes, you will need to switch according to my manual. In my VP owner's manual it states to use the same as engine oil for SP models, but for DP models it says to use API GL5 SAE 90W or SAE 80W/90.

For commercial or severe use on DP models it recommends pure synthetic 75/90W.
