I have a 1973 mc-1 drive attached to my 140 gm 4 cyclinder. After digging into the top end of the drive it is shot. I would like to replace the top with a alpha one gen one if possible or just replace the whole drive how do I know if I need the longer or shorter shaft and how do I know which one it a right fit for my boat without removing the engine and changing the plate and everything
