Hi Luckypenny,<br />Welcome to SWFL! I'm just up the road from you in Pt Charlotte. I just attended a seminar the other night on fishing for near shore Grouper. They come in close in the winter months. Mid Jan to March is supposed to be prime time for catching Grouper. The Capt holding the seminar suggested trolling a "Mann Stretch 30" lure about 4.5 knots in approx 40' of water over hard bottom or other structure. I'm anxious to go out and give it a try. I'm more used to anchoring up and bottom fishing for Grouper, but I'm willing to give this a try.
