Hi,
My name is R.J. I just registered and would like to say that most of you guys really know what you are talking about and it sounds like it has come from expierence not just repeating what some book said. Anyway my quesdtion is this, I am buying a 1986 suzuki DT75, are there anyone known problems I should beaware of? I'm getting the outboard for $800 and it is really clean. It appears that it doesn't have very many hours on it. Thought under certain circumsatances that don't mean anything. It runs great, compression is outstanding and the temp. in each cylinder after it has warmned up is good. Any feed back would be great.
R.J.

Re: Suzuki

Tiderunner,

The only issue I ever heard with the 3-cyl. Zuki's is that they are real sensative to overheat-the head gasket pops.

Other than that-good engines.

Re: Suzuki

Listen to djohns19 message. Check the head bolt torque once a year and even that problem can be avoided.

Re: Suzuki

I had a 1985 DT55 3cylinder 2 stroke which overall was a pretty good engine. Mine died only due to a failure of one of the oil injector lines which I should have replaced and cooked the upper cylinder. it was a fantastic warm start engine always starting on the first turn of the key. Cold starts required good priming but it always went. Had no major repairs just one waterflow sensor switch and fuel pump diaphram in ten years. For the price it sounds like a good buy.
