I've got a 70 hp 4 stroke Suzuki and have a 13 1/4 x 17 pitch U series prop. I just purchased a identical size and pitch V series prop. Both fit exactly the same on the prop shaft and spacing is the same. The V-series hub it pressed in from behind and the U-series from the front. The exhaust flange is a bit difference (flared on the V-series). Should I expect any difference in performance? Why the change? I haven't tried the new prop out yet.

The "U" is uncupped, the "V" is cupped. They also use different thrust washers.

When I put on the V-series prop on the shaft, with the stopper in place first, the next thick splined washer (thrust washer?) fits exactly the same as with the U-series. Both props fit and bolt on with exactly the same spacing and fit. How is this V-series washer different? The parts that came with the U-series prop seem to fit and work just fine (although I have not done an on the water test). I'm a bit puzzled but I certainly don't want to bugger any thing up.
