Considering new boat comes with suzuki DT225, on 23' bayboat. Does anybody have any of these, are they reliable? Do you like it or hate it? Do you have to do maintance all the time to keep it running? Has anybody had one in the shop lately?
Or should I opt for the more expensive one like Yamaha or Mercury?
Thanks! Any imput would be appreciated.
The Puddle Pirate

puddle pirate,

I have owned one Suzy (DT-140). I found it:

1. Overbuilt.
2. Thirsty.
3. Reliable.

The engine was very sensitive to old fuel-even if treated.

The biggest problem with Suzukis is the lack of dealer support.

If you have a local dealer with a good reputation. Go for it. You'll like it.
