I put this motor away last summer and now I have time to try to get it to preform right. Cleaned carb so now it runs right but...replaced water pump impeller but still does not pump water. I believe it was used in salt with no flushing a number of times by previous owner. Checked all passages in lower unit and good so it must be in the head. This motor seems to have no thermostat? I'm in the process of getting out the salted in water jacket bolts and might have to take off the head too. With all the salted in bolts a hassle. Is this common on these motors to clog up in the head? There is that tube that looks like a water passage that goes near both plugs. I'm betting that might be salted up?

Seen this a few times with engines I’ve bought from guys using them in the sea and not flushed before storage. Usually a good poke and prod with a bit of wire, in where the tell tale pipe comes out the block/head under the hood. Sometimes need to do it a couple of times.

Thanks, but that is pretty basic info that I know and have done that on many outboards myself. I need specific info if there is any on these old portable Suzuki which are kind of odd birds. Have taken off head cover and some salt deposits but not a whole lot and am in the process of taking off the water jacket cover (broke off 3 bolts) and it seems very salted. On this outboard I don't know if there is a whole lot left I can do.
