Hi folks, I have a 1986 Suzuki DT-75 that has two-piece, spring-loaded choke plates. I have also seen other DT-75 carbs with a solid one-piece choke plate. On my motor, the spring-loaded half of the choke plate is missing on the top and bottom cylinders. I can't imagine how that occurred but it was like that when I got the motor which came with the boat when I bought it last year. I've been working through a whole series of steps to prepare the boat and trailer and I'm now at the point of getting the motor running. The motor is starting OK as is with the choke, with the middle cylinder getting full choke (and the other two half-choke). But it may be that this will not work as well in really cold weather. Anyone else ever seen this, or have any idea what might have happened to the other half of those plates? The plastic air intake cover that goes over the carbs has a broken place that makes me wonder if a really strong backfire might have blown them out. They did not turn up when the carbs were removed to be rebuilt and the reed valves look good. Anybody got some DT-75 carb choke plates (38mm throat) that would fit? I can't really justify buying entire carbs just for these parts given that it starts as is, and I don't see that Mikuni carb parts are available individually. Thanks in advance for any help!
