suzuki dt65 1987

i have a dt 65 1987 starts and runs fine but when you put it in gear the motor bogs down and dies take it out of gear it starts and revs good until you put it in gear again

Sounds like a fuel issue. Break the carbs down and do a good cleaning. Don't mix parts and put the same carbs back on as they came off. Good Luck

Could be one cylinder not running. They idle great but die when put into gear.
Check compressions before you spend money on trying to fix it.
People invariably ignore carb cleaning. That one of the main reasons for two stroke failures.
If you do get to cleaning they need to be removed and stripped and cleaned properly. Dont use the spray stuff. It can do damage. I use Gunk "Parts and Carb cleaner' and soak the carbs. Follow the directions on the can.
Always use Stabil in you fuel. It can help save you time and money.
