Hey Guys,

Ran into an issue after I replaced my Water Imepellar. Pretty new to all of this, but I took my lower Unit off and replaced the Water Impeller. It was left in neutral when I did this. When I put it back on and reinstalled the shift shaft it is stuck in forward gear. Any advice on how to fix this?

Suzuki DT55 86-97 - Not to sure what year it is.

Drop lower unit again, find neutral in lower unit by rotating prop shaft by hand and moving gear shift.....put it back together and should be good to go....

Thanks Robert. Do you know which way the Gear Shift rod needs to move? Does it need to rotate or push/pull to get back in neutral?

Turning one way will lock it in fwd,the opposite way will lock it in rev.You will want to center it from there and be certain the prop moves freely in both directions. No pushing or pulling, just turning.Charlie....oops I just noticed you have a Suzuki, sorry that was for a Yamaha
