Suzuki DT40: Replacing Flywheel = Timing Problems?

Hi everyone:

I have a dead '94 Suzuki DT40 with electric start, and complete remote control.
I have replaced it with a newer ('98 model) Suzuki DT40 with tiller handle and manual start.

I'm planning to convert the newer engine to electric start, using the old one parts. I think the electrical side of the business is finally quite clear to me, but I still have one doubt regarding the flywheel replacement.

Will I have timing problems if I try to replace the new flywheel for the old one (dented)?

None of the engines had any timing issue, but I don't really know if once the flywheel is removed from the shaft, there could be any timing problem, despite the key alignment.

Do you recommend me to try?

Thanks in advance.
