I have recently purchased an old Suzuki DT25 outboard motor and am hoping someone can tell me the age? <br /><br />It is painted blue with a white engine cover. <br /><br />Serial Number is 2501 207752<br /><br />Made in Japan. <br /><br />Thanks.
Identification of outboard motors is made off of the model usually located on the port side of the transom mounting bracket on the motor.<br />This link is in Swedish but not to hard to follow. In your case a letter designates the year of the motor. The DT25 was made in 6 years.<br /> Suzuki Model Years
1982 it is. The table says there wasn't any 25 hp made in '82(VZ) but in '83(QD). Error in the table I guess.<br />From the colour and the serial number I'd say it is a 1982 25 hp Suzuki. <br /><br />
