I have a Suzuki 1988 DT150SS (only few hundred hours)on my 18' Boston Whaler OR boat, I got some strange problem and hope someone know what is going on. My motor start and run fine at idle and WOT (40+ mph), but when I run the boat at 3/4 throttle or WOT and ocean get little bit rough then if I hit the big wave, the boat taken a hard pound then immediately the motor lost almost half of its power even I did not touch to the throttle controller. After that happens the motor is no longer react. fast enough to my throttle controler (some sort of 5-10 sec. delay). If I run the boat again on next day the motor is back to normal until she get another hard pounding then.. I have over half full gas tank, new gas/water separator filter, Navman flow-scan.
Does anyone have seen or heard this before? or any ideal what need to do to diagnostic the problem? Thanks in advance. skeepyjack

Re: Suzuki DT150SS Lost Some Power After .....

hello
does the fuel flow rate on the navman change when this occurs? sounds like some trash in the fuel bowls. could be some trash in the tank. open up the carbs and carefully spray them out. the crc 06064 or wally world tech 2000 spray does well.
good luck but it sounds like a fuel problem. that is where I would head first. you can try a clean portable fuel tank to eliminate the hull fuel system.
good luck and keep posting
