Hello,
I've recently purchased a little Suzuki 9.9, which seems to run pretty well. It's my first Suzuki outboard. I've had to go at it a bit to get it running well, as it was in storage for quite some time and the tank wasn't drained properly when it went into storage. The engine itself had been ran out of gasoline, out the float bowl had been drained, so the carb wasn't full of gunk.
My question is with the cooling exit ports on the shaft. The pea stream is solid and seems to be responding as it should. There at two cooling exit ports on the aft portion of the mid-shaft and there appears to be three on the forward. During all operational settings, only one forward and one aft are actually spitting out water. Is this normal?
I've attached a photo of the aft ports. They are side by side. You can see that only the right is spitting out water.
Cheers,
Dan
