Suzuki DT 9.9 fuel feed issue.

I recently plummed my 9.9 kicker directly to my main fuel system (I attached the feed hose to a free port on the fuel/water seperator unit.) My problem is that now the kicker is starving for fuel and I have to manually pump the bulb to get enough gas to run at any decent speed. (trolling at extremely slow ((1 or 2 knots)) is managable, but when I speed up the motor starves and bogs down.)
I was told it could be an anti-siphon valve issue, but I cannot find one on my main tank....any suggestions comments would be appreciated.

Re: Suzuki DT 9.9 fuel feed issue.

If it is a blockage after the bulb the bulb will get sucked flat or flattened by the fuel pump sucking. If it does'nt flatten then the blockage may be between the bulb and the engine. Sometimes the connectors, which are self sealing, are not depressing the ball bearing sufficiently which seals the rubber fuel pipe when disconnected. Of course rubbish in the fuel line won't help. If at some time the connectors were bought separately and made by different companies they may not be quite compatible, or they may be worn. I use the word "may" a lot because the fuel pump could be at fault and not sucking sufficiently. Make sure you open the sealing screw on the tank to avoid drawing a vacuum.

Many thanks Keith,
The bulb is flattening almost instantly upon start up, so I will look at the connectors. I just discovered that there is in fact an anti-siphon valve on the main tank feed line. I have since replaced it with a plain hollow connector, and will now do the checks you suggest.
